Cree Valley RV Park |
|
We’re Dream’n….. One idea we have bounced around since first dreaming of owning an RV Park is to have local musicians come and play at a central firepit location. The patio area here outside the lodge would work well for this activity. It would be a great chance to get together and visit with other park visitors on a Saturday night. An evening like this also gives young or amateur entertainers a chance to “perform” before a live audience. Are you an entertainer or do you have an idea about this? Talk to Dave or Lenette and we’ll see if this is a go or a no. |

The Same Old Stuff Cree Valley RV Park has 12 Seasonal sites that are now full. We have two short term pull-thru sites with power and water and two walk-in tent sites. Each site has a picnic table and fire pit. When all else fails the overflow area is available just south of the Lodge patio area. The Lodge houses the flush toilet washrooms, recreation room (pool and air hockey tables), kitchen area, shower, coin laundry, sitting area and a six person bunkhouse. The washrooms are open 24/7 and the remainder of the building can be opened as necessary. It is a great location for a Birthday or Anniversary Party and has family reunion potential. We even hosted a wedding this summer! Our operating season is from the May Long Weekend through till the first snow or Thanksgiving weekend, whichever comes first. Dave and Lenette are proud to provide a safe and quiet place to relax and appreciate your co-operation by driving slowly, curbing litter and keeping sound or music levels reasonable. |

Meet the Campers To give you a feel for what this could be I’ll interview our oldest son Chad to learn more about him. Next time hopefully I’ll find a camper willing to play along J . Firepit Fodder: What do you enjoy doing? Chad: Singing Karaoke really loud in my room. FF: What do you like about living on Cree Valley Road? Chad: Actually I don’t like it. Too boring! FF: What are you good at and enjoy doing? Chad: Watching movie musicals like Hairspray. FF: What is one thing you don’t like to leave at home? Chad: My little brothers, Bob and Colton. FF: Who is your hero? Chad: Captain America because he has a shield and can fight bad guys. The bullets bounce off the shield. FF: Favorite car? Chad: Any convertible with the radio on. FF: Where would you love to go for a vacation? Chad: Disneyworld to see High School Musical Live. FF: Closing comments for our readers? Chad: I hope the campers stay here a while and I’m looking forward to famous Americans coming here one day. |

What’s new Well it has been a long time coming but 30 Amps of power and clean cool water is now available at each RV site. Those who prefer 15 Amps (like a regular household plug) can enjoy that too. There were a few weather hold-ups and a communication mixup between the contractor, Dave, Epcor and Fortis. Once rectified it was 10 days till the power was supplied to the power distribution building. Shortly thereafter the contractor was able to resume work. There is even a panel (and water point) installed near the playground to provide a launch point for future expansion. The water is tested for bacteria weekly. I recommend when you are away from your unit you turn off the hose bib on the post. On return it is a good idea to allow the water to run for a minute or two to freshen it up. |
